When you visit a dental office, consider yourself as a guest in their business home. Please remember that it is "all about the patient". When in doubt, hold all comments and questions until the patient is out of hearing range and keep in mind that any rules of common etiquette are in effect.
Rules for Shadowing

Call to see if you need a smock or scrubs
·
Call ahead to confirm
·
No jeans
·
No flip flops or open-toed shoes
·
Tasteful dress with minimal “skin” exposed
·
Keep hair neat, out of face (put it up if needed)
·
No gum
·
Minimal jewelry
·
Primary focus on patient
·
Don’t ask questions in front of patients
·
No food or drink in clinical areas
·
No Perfume
